Agniveer Army Recruitment Rally Postponed in Bihar, New Dates to be Announced Soon

The Danapur recruitment office has announced the postponement of the Agniveer Army recruitment rally, which was originally scheduled to take place from December 10 to December 20. This notification was made public on Friday, and it affects candidates hailing from West Bihar, particularly those in Patna, Buxar, Bhojpur, Gopalganj, Saran, Vaishali, and Siwan. The recruitment office has assured that new dates for the rally will be communicated soon, although they haven’t provided details regarding the reason for the delay.

The recruitment rally was anticipated by many, as it was set to draw candidates from across the state of Bihar. However, only those shortlisted were eligible to attend the event. The office emphasized the importance of staying updated by frequently checking the official website for announcements related to the new schedule.

The Agniveer recruitment initiative is a component of the broader Agnipath Scheme, introduced by the government in September 2022. This program aims to enlist both male and female candidates aged between 17.5 and 21 years into the Indian Armed Forces, covering the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force. Candidates who are successfully recruited under this scheme will serve for a duration of four years, during which they will undergo an initial six months of training followed by three and a half years of active service.

Upon completing their service, Agniveers will have the opportunity to reapply for a longer tenure in the forces; however, only 25% of those retiring each year have the chance to join the permanent cadre. While retirees will not receive a pension, they will be compensated with a lump sum of approximately Rs 11.7 lakh at the conclusion of their four-year term. The program is designed to recruit approximately 45,000 to 50,000 new personnel annually, addressing the need for personnel in the Indian Armed Forces while providing young individuals with a meaningful service experience.
