Lieutenant General Dhiraj Seth, AVSM, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Southern Command, recently visited the Military College of Electronics and Mechanical Engineering (MCEME) in Secunderabad.
During his visit, he received comprehensive briefings on the college’s training activities aimed at enhancing technical proficiency within the Indian Army.
A significant highlight of his visit was the tour of the newly established ‘KAVACH’ training facility. This state-of-the-art center is dedicated to advanced training on Armoured Fighting Vehicles (AFVs), significantly improving the technical skills of personnel across all ranks in AFV operations.
The facility features cutting-edge laboratories focusing on additive manufacturing, augmented and virtual reality (AR/VR) technologies, and modern fluid mechanics and hydraulics labs. Equipped with advanced classrooms, ‘KAVACH’ fosters an environment conducive to learning, knowledge sharing, and innovation.Â
Lt Gen Seth also visited the Simulator Development Division (SDD) at Secunderabad, where he was briefed on the development of niche technology simulators. He provided insightful feedback on the rapid integration of emerging technologies to meet the evolving needs of the Army, emphasizing the importance of continuous innovation in training methodologies.
This visit underscores the Indian Army’s commitment to leveraging advanced technologies and training facilities to maintain operational readiness and technical excellence.
