IPS Rajwinder Singh Bhatti Assumes Charge as Director General of CISF

Rajwinder Singh Bhatti, an accomplished Indian Police Service (IPS) officer, officially took charge as the Director General (DG) of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF). The ceremony at CISF Headquarters was marked by a ceremonial Guard of Honour in his honor, attended by Praveer Ranjan, ADG (APS), Kundan Krishnan, ADG (North), PS Ranpise, ADG (HQ), and other senior officers of the CISF.

Following the ceremony, DG Bhatti engaged with senior CISF officers in a meeting to review the operations and functionality of the force. He expressed a strong commitment to enhancing professionalism and welfare measures within the CISF. Emphasizing the critical role of the CISF in national security, DG Bhatti outlined his vision to bolster the force’s capabilities in protecting the nation’s critical infrastructure, including airports, nuclear installations, and other vital assets. He also stressed the importance of prioritizing the well-being of the personnel, who play a crucial role in maintaining the security and integrity of these strategic sites.

Prior to his new role as the 31st DG of the CISF, Bhatti served as the Director General of Bihar Police, where he was recognized for his strategic leadership and adept handling of complex law and order situations. An IPS officer from the 1990 Bihar cadre, Bhatti’s background includes significant experience in security management and operational strategy, which will be instrumental in his leadership at CISF.

Bhatti’s distinguished career spans over 34 years during which he held numerous key positions both in Bihar and on central deputation. His roles included serving as the City Superintendent of Police in Patna, Inspector-General of the Patna Zone, and key positions in Jehanabad, Gopalganj, and Purnia. His tenure on central deputation included impactful roles such as the Joint Director of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) at the Air Authority of India (AAI).

His exemplary service has been recognized with prestigious awards including the President’s Police Medal for Meritorious Service in 2006 and the President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service in 2014.
