Lieutenant General Sadhna S Nair, Director General Medical Services (Army), inaugurated a state-of-the-art Biplane Cardiac Catheterization and Interventional Lab at the Command Hospital in Central Command, Lucknow. This new facility is equipped with advanced technology such as Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT), Intravascular Ultrasound (IVUS), Rotablation, and LASER systems designed for both cardiac and non-cardiac interventions.
The inauguration of this lab marks a significant advancement in the medical capabilities available to Army personnel and their families, as well as veterans. The lab’s cutting-edge technology will enhance the hospital’s ability to provide high-quality, precise diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, thereby improving patient outcomes.
Lt Gen Sadhna S Nair emphasized the importance of integrating such advanced technologies into military healthcare facilities. She noted that the new lab would significantly contribute to improving healthcare standards and ensuring that service members receive the best possible medical treatments.
The establishment of the Biplane Cardiac Catheterization and Interventional Lab is part of the Indian Army’s ongoing efforts under the “Year of Tech Absorption” initiative, aimed at incorporating modern technology across various facets of its operations. This initiative underscores the commitment of the Surya Command to embracing transformation and modernization in providing healthcare services.
