In a tribute to the heroes of Operation Vijay, a new multipurpose stadium was inaugurated at Garkhone in the Kargil district of Ladakh. The stadium is named after Captain Manoj Kumar Pandey, PVC (Posthumous), who was awarded the Param Vir Chakra for his bravery during the Kargil War.
The General Officer Commanding of the Fire and Fury Corps presided over the ceremony, dedicating the stadium to the community members of Aryan Valley and the bravehearts of Operation Vijay.
This development is part of the 25th anniversary celebrations of Kargil Vijay, also known as #KVDRajatJayanti, honoring the sacrifices and valor of the soldiers who fought in the 1999 conflict.
The Captain Manoj Kumar Pandey PVC (P) Stadium aims to provide a space for sports and community events, fostering unity and a spirit of resilience among the residents.
The establishment of the stadium not only commemorates the historical significance of Kargil Vijay but also serves as a lasting monument to the courage and dedication of the Indian Armed Forces.
It stands as a reminder of the heroism that continues to inspire future generations in Ladakh and across the nation.
