Lieutenant General Hitesh Bhalla, SC**, SM, VSM, the newly appointed General Officer Commanding of the Fire & Fury Corps, made a significant visit to the Trishul Division in Ladakh. During his visit, Lt Gen Bhalla engaged with troops stationed in the forward areas, acknowledging their dedication and professionalism under challenging conditions.
Lt Gen Bhalla, who assumed command of the critical corps-sized formation responsible for defending the Ladakh region along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) on July 1, 2024, praised the TrishulWarriors for their tireless efforts. His visit comes shortly after taking over from Lt Gen Rashim Bali, who is set for a new posting in Delhi.
The General Officer Commanding expressed his admiration for the troops’ resilience and the high standards of operational readiness they maintain. He urged all ranks of the XIV Corps to continue their duties with zeal and rigor, emphasizing the importance of readiness to face any threats to national security.
An alumnus of the National Defence Academy and the Indian Military Academy, Lt Gen Bhalla has a distinguished military career, having commanded a mountain brigade on the Line of Control in the Ladakh sector and an armored division in the Punjab sector. He has also held significant positions including the Colonel General Staff of an infantry division on the LoC, defense attaché at the Embassy of India in a neighboring country, and Brigadier General Staff (operations) of the Fire and Fury Corps.
The visit of Lt Gen Bhalla underscores the strategic importance of the Fire & Fury Corps in safeguarding the borders in the Ladakh region and highlights the ongoing commitment of the Indian Army to maintain peace and security along the LAC.
