In a significant leadership transition, Mrs. Sunita Dwivedi has taken on the role of the 24th President of the Army Wives Welfare Association (AWWA), stepping into the position previously held by Mrs. Archana Pande.
The changeover ceremony provided a platform for Mrs. Dwivedi to express her gratitude towards Mrs. Pande and all predecessors for their visionary contributions and initiatives.
Founded in 1966, AWWA has grown to become one of India’s largest non-governmental organizations, dedicated to the welfare of the spouses, children, and dependents of Indian Army personnel.
The organization focuses on supporting and enhancing the official welfare efforts within the Indian Army, especially for families, children, and widows of all ranks, including those retired.
Under its new leadership, AWWA aims to continue its wide array of initiatives aimed at addressing the concerns and improving the lives of soldiers’ families and next of kin.
Mrs. Dwivedi’s appointment marks a continued commitment to the noble cause championed by AWWA since its inception.
