The delegation, led by its founder Mr. Hemant Sachdev and Director Col. SC Sharma, who was part of the first induction team to the Siachen Glacier in 1984, received high praise for their dedication and service.

During the interaction, General Chauhan lauded the TMR Foundation for its unwavering commitment to providing round-the-clock avalanche and mountain rescue support to the Indian Army in the high-altitude areas of the Northern Command. โ€œYour exemplary dedication and service to the nation are truly commendable,โ€ he said, emphasizing the critical role that TMR plays in ensuring the safety and operational effectiveness of military personnel deployed in some of the most challenging environments on earth.

These teams, comprising accomplished mountaineers with extensive experience in multinational expeditions and successful summits of Everest and other formidable peaks, are an indispensable asset to the Indian Army. Their expertise and readiness have significantly enhanced the Armyโ€™s capability to conduct high-altitude operations safely.

Mr. Hemant Sachdev, the visionary founder of the TMR Foundation, along with Col. SC Sharma, whose storied career includes the historic induction to the Siachen Glacier, have been instrumental in shaping the foundationโ€™s ethos and operational excellence. Their leadership has inspired many young mountaineers to join TMR and contribute to its mission.

The foundationโ€™s efforts have not only saved countless lives but have also set benchmarks in high-altitude rescue operations.

The TMR teams are known for their swift response and effective management of emergencies, often working in treacherous conditions to ensure the safety of soldiers and civilians alike.

The TMR teamsโ€™ participation in multinational expeditions has brought a wealth of knowledge and skills, enriching their rescue operations. Their successful summits of Everest and other challenging peaks are a testament to their physical endurance, technical proficiency, and indomitable spirit.

As the TMR Foundation continues to support the Indian Army, its role is expected to expand further. General Chauhanโ€™s commendation highlights the importance of such civilian-military collaborations in enhancing national security.

The foundationโ€™s work not only supports military operations but also contributes to the broader goals of disaster management and emergency preparedness in the high-altitude regions of India.

The interaction between CDS General Anil Chauhan and the Tiranga Mountain Rescue Foundation delegation underscores the critical importance of TMRโ€™s contributions to national security and high-altitude rescue operations.
