Indian Coast Guard Rescues Critically Injured Fisherman from Gulf of Khambat

The distress call originated from an Indian Fishing Boat named Pushkar Raj, located approximately 50 kilometers from the coast in the Gulf of Khambat. The victim, a 37-year-old fisherman, had sustained severe injuries, including a fractured left foot and a separated ankle, rendering him in urgent need of medical attention.

Upon receiving the distress call, the Maritime Rescue Sub Centre, Pipavav, swiftly deployed the ICG Interceptor Boat C-409, which was on active deployment in the vicinity.

The Interceptor Boat, equipped with advanced navigation and communication systems, raced against time to reach the scene of action and provide immediate assistance.

Upon arrival at the location, the Interceptor Boat established communication with the distressed Indian Fishing Boat and promptly initiated the evacuation process.

Despite the challenging sea conditions, the Coast Guard personnel demonstrated exceptional skill and professionalism, ensuring the safe transfer of the injured fisherman from the fishing boat to the Interceptor Boat.

The injured fisherman received immediate medical attention from the proficient ICG medical team onboard the Interceptor Boat. After stabilizing his condition and administering initial treatment, the patient was transferred to a Government Hospital for further medical management.
