In a significant development aimed at enhancing the living conditions of soldiers deployed in high-altitude areas, the upgraded Canteen Stores Department (CSD) facility, named ‘The Phoenix’, along with a new Food Court, were inaugurated at the Northern Area, Chandigarh.
The ceremony was graced by the presence of Sep Saurav Kumar, a transient, and Maj Gen MS Mokha, the former Chief of Staff of the Fire and Fury Corps and currently serving as the Additional Director General (ADG) of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) for the Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, and Chandigarh Directorate.
The inauguration of ‘The Phoenix’ and the Food Court marks a significant improvement in the transit facilities available to soldiers, ensuring they have access to better amenities during their deployments.
The General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Fire & Fury Corps and the Commander (Cdr) of the Northern Area, who were instrumental in executing these projects, were also present at the event.
Their efforts underscore the ongoing commitment to improve the quality of life for military personnel, recognizing their hard work and dedication in serving the nation under challenging conditions.
