In a recent educational excursion, participants of the Higher Defence Management Course from the College of Defence Management in Secunderabad embarked on a Forward Area Tour, visiting the Naval Base in Karwar on March 18, 2024. This visit was an integral part of their curriculum, aimed at providing them with hands-on exposure to the operational infrastructure and strategic facilities within the Indian Navy.
The highlight of their visit was the shiplift facility at the Naval Ship Repair Yard, where the course members were given a comprehensive overview of the ship repair and maintenance capabilities that the yard offers. This facility is crucial for the upkeep and readiness of the naval fleet, ensuring that ships are maintained at the highest standards of operational efficiency.
Additionally, the participants were taken on a wind shield tour of the upcoming infrastructure at the naval base. This allowed them to witness firsthand the developments and enhancements being made to the base’s capabilities, including the expansion of facilities and the introduction of advanced technologies.
