The last six months have witnessed significant changes in the geopolitical landscape in the Indian Ocean Region (IOR), primarily driven by the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict.

The strategic realignment of nations has led to a spill-over of kinetic actions on land into the Maritime Domain. This includes drone and missile attacks on mercantile shipping and a resurgence of piracy. In response to these emerging threats, the Indian Navy has exhibited strength and resolve, positioning itself as a First Responder and a ‘Preferred Security Partner’ in the region.
