1 AFSB Dehradun (Air Force Selection Board)

1 AFSB (Air Force Selection Board) situated in the capital city of Uttarakhand, Dehradun. Dehradun is in the Doon Valley on the foothills of the Himalayas nestled between two of India’s mightiest rivers — the Ganges on the east and the Yamuna on the west.

It is located in the Clement Town area of Dehradun. This AFSB center is located around 10KM away from the main railway station. SSB interviews for AFCAT, CDSE, and NDA etc. are conducted in this center. 1 AFSB has got several games which can be played by candidates, both indoor and outdoor, a TV room, ANTE room, CSD Canteen and Internet room. Dehradun is cold throughout the year and you can check up the temperature before moving for SSB and take clothing accordingly.

Dehradun is a city famous for its scenic beauties. The hill station of Mussorrie is not very far from here. Dehradun has got various schools and colleges and hence is an education hub. There is IMA situated in Dehradun which adds to its charm. There are institutes like FRI, Indian Institute of Remote Sensing, Wildlife Institute of India etc.

Places to visit in Dehradun include FRI, Shastradhara Falls, Buddha Monastery (just near the AFSB), Robbers Cave, Tapkeshwar temple, Deer park, Kalinga Monument, Clock Tower etc.

Dehradun is well connected by Rail, Road and Air with major cities like Delhi, Varanasi, Mumbai, Kolkata etc. The rail connects Dehradun to major parts of India. The bus terminal ISBT connects it to nearby major cities by bus. Various private and national carrier airlines provide flights to Dehradun; the airport is named Jolly Grant.

There are number of hotels and Dharamshalas nearby the Railway Station (Which is the reporting point for candidates of 1 AFSB). The hotels are of nominal rates with nice facilities; you can stay there and report in the morning for you SSB at the MCO of Dehradun station.
