TGC 120 Eligible Branches and Cut Off Marks

Indian army has published the notification of TGC 120 recently. TGC is also know as technical graduate course which is a technical entry for an engineering graduate. Aspirants who are studying in final year of engineering including passed out candidates, can apply for this entry. There is no written test for TGC entry and one will face direct SSB intertview at one of the SSB i.e. Allahabad, Bhopal and Bangalore if shortlisted. To apply for this entry you must fulfill following eligibility criteria.

Note: In case the engineering stream of the candidate is not listed above and candidates desire to claim equivalence, they may produce equivalence certificate of the concerned universities for the purpose. Recruiting Directorate will examine the case for acceptance based on the certificate issued by the concerned university for equivalence.

TGC 120 Cut Off Marks 

Though cut off marks for TGC 120 is not announced till now and will be declared by the Indian army later, if we go by previous TGC cut off marks, TGC 119 had 64% till 6th semester and SSC- 43 tech entry has 66% till 6th semester. So we assume that TGC 120 cut off marks can go up to 66% till 6th semester.

TGC 120 Selection Procedure

  1. Short listing of Applications. Integrated HQ of MoD(Army) reserves the right to shortlist applications and to fix cutoff percentage of marks without assigning any reason.
  2. Only shortlisted eligible candidates depending on the cutoff percentage will be interviewed at Selection Centres, Allahabad (UP), Bhopal (MP) and Bangalore (Karnataka) by Psychologist, Group Testing Officer and Interviewing Officer. Call Up letter for SSB interview will be issued through candidate’s registered e-mail id and through SMS. Candidates will not be interviewed locally. Allotment of Selection Centre is at the discretion of DG Rtg, IHQ MoD (Army) and no request for changes are entertained in this regard.
  3. Interviews will be held in Sep/Oct 2014 onwards. 
  4. Candidates will put through two stage selection procedure. Those who clear Stage I will go to Stage II. Those who fail in Stage I will be returned on the same date. 
  5. Candidates will face 5 days SSB interview.

  1. The cut off should be decided by the no. Of students applying from a particular branch and no. Of vacancies of that branch.surely this is a fair process.as there are some branches for which vacancies are high and also no. Of students applying are high therefore the cut off for them will b high..but in some branches no. Of students applying are low,so cutoff would automatically come down..thus conclusively either the deciding of cut off should be fair or there should b no cutoff

  2. Should we prepare our Technical subject for the interview?? Will there be Technical interview in TGC??
