Captain Ayush Yadav who martyred on 27th April 2017 when three armed terrorists infiltrated the Army garrison at Panzgam in Kupwara at 4.30 am on Thursday. While they were cutting the fence, the santry at the post started firing on them. They fired at the guards and tried to rush towards the living quarters. Captain Ayush who was asleep at that time woke up and came in action with his AK-47 and saved the lives of his brothers.

- Captain Ayush had been in service for the last three years. His father Arun Kant Yadav who is an inspector in UP police. The 25-year-old captain was the only son of the his parents who live in UP’s Kanpur. His dedication towards serving the motherland was so strong.

The militants were inching towards the living quarters. The young captain charged at the militants and halted the three in their tracks. The young officer was hit with bullets but he held on and didn’t allow the militants to proceed.
- “Captian Yadav was martyred while preventing the militants from reaching the living quarters,” said Colonel Surav Joshi after the encounter ended. Two militants were killed and three army personal including Yadav were martyred.
