6 Things To Prepare Before Facing Personal Interview

Preparation definitely ensures the success and this is also applicable in the SSB. But don’t misinterpret it with cramping and dumping the theoretical knowledge. Talking about the personal interview, there are certain things that can be prepared earlier in order to make a fluent impact over IO. These points show your constant observation and keenness toward the casual things. Some of them are mentioned below that will help you out in performing well in personal interview.

  1. Knowledge About Your Native City And State – Before appearing in the SSB, the candidates have to stay aware of the basic knowledge of their city and state. The knowledge has to be in a specific pattern like census data, social, economic, education, and cultural significance.
  2. Your Activities At Home And Relations With Family – Well, this is the most common question asked in the SSB and still candidates get stuck in it. Just observe yourself and your activities that you usually do at home. Get involved in home tasks and bring out the live experience of them and observe the nature and working style of your family members.
  3. Basic Knowledge Of Your Sports – Every candidate has played any sports in his lifetime that he mentions in the PIQ form. If you have played it genuinely then you should have the basic knowledge of it. Apart from this you have to stay ready to face the counter questions on your experience of playing the sports.
  4. Scout/ Guide Or NCC Experience – If you have mentioned your participation in NCC, Scouts and Guides or NSS, then you will be asked about your participation and basic knowledge of the services, camps, ranks, awards etc.
  5. Personality of Friends, Colleagues and Family Members – Your friends, their personality and their good and bad things can be a source of questioning for the IO. You will not be asked about the personality trait of all of your friends or relatives, but you close friends and family members would be the target of the IO.
  6. Knowledge About Hobbies And Interests – The most important and mostly asked by the IO is the topic related to your hobbies and interests. Writing anything randomly will take you down. If you have a genuine interest in specific things, then you should have the knowledge of it. For example, if you are interested in painting, then who is your best painter, what kind of painting do you like and what is the technique of it, who inspired you to get inclined toward It.?

Conclusion – It is always hard to face the unexpected thing. To manage such situations, it is always advised to bring out your dummy questions, clarify your doubts and be clear in your thoughts. Side by side priors preparations will help you in making a smooth and instant response at the interview. So before going to the SSB, prepare for the above questions and stay ready to face counter questions over them.
