Heart defect

The INA said the post-mortem conducted on the body of the cadet at the Pariyaram Medical College Hospital established that the cadet had congenital heart defect by birth.

The defect had not been detected by the medical checks done during the cadet’s induction into the academy, it said.

The cadet had joined the INA on July 10. The INA arranged for the body to be flown from Mangalore to Nagpur.

A guard of honour is being provided by the Indian Air Force during the funeral of the cadet at his native village in Bhandara district in Maharashtra.
