How To Tackle Hobbies And Interests Section In PIQ Form

SSB interview is not just a 5 days schedule that allows a candidate to think, speak and act. It has got some depth. Every task has a special purpose, and you should know its importance. In personal interview, IO asks some basic questions that seem to be very simple and straight forward, but when probing is done, the candidate feels trapped. Most of the interview timing goes in conversation related to your PIQ form.  And the column of interests and hobbies is one of the main topics of discussion between IO and candidates. Many candidates have asked to discuss this topic and suggest some ways to handle it. So we are here with some suggestions.

 

  1. Physical exercise or running – Being muscular is a trend and spending time in the gym or physical exercise is a normal thing. Running is also good hobby. Your running timing, area of running, motivation, effects on health, etc. can be asked in interview.
  2. Playing Chess Or Sudoku – Chess is one of the most played board games. Playing chess will improve your mental strength and will also enhance your decision-making ability. Normally people need a partner to play chess, but these days’ people use to play it over smartphones, PCs, Tablets etc. Sudoku is also a game that increases mental strength.
  3. Painting – This is an art that refurbishes the creativity and open the closeness with reality. Painting is a good hobby and is a better way to explore mind and new ideas.
  4. Writing On Social Media – With the hike in use of social media, people uses to get in contact with friend, relatives or crowd of people using social networking site. Your blog or article wiring can be a good hobby.
  5. Technological knowledge – Technology is enhancing day by day, updating the face of life. A bulky computer system has reached the pockets of human and new generation is a bit inclined to grab the information about these. You can mention it as your hobbies. There are several means of gathering technological information like magazines, internet, any tech hub nearby etc.
  6. Gardening – Gardening is a hobby that not only helps you to maintain a green area, but also takes you closer to nature. Your knowledge about plants, instruments used, your time sharing for gardening etc. will be probed in the interview.
  7. Repairing – Normally, boys always take a keen interest in repairing household goods. Some people have a good experience or repairing small faults, their mobile phones and PC. Whatever you repair, just do it with interest and focus.
  8. Dancing or singing – Many candidates have participated in dancing and singing competitions in their school and college events. Their interest and inclination toward these skills can be a good hobby. What you need is to grab more knowledge and think more deeply on these hobbies.
  9. Playing musical instruments – Many candidates have good knowledge of playing the musical instrument. Those candidates need to rub their talent and inculcate it in their free time.
  10. Reading – Some people are inclined toward reading novels or some special kind of books (not subjective books). Well, reading novels ignite creativity and creativity frames a good psychology.
  11. Yoga – These days, yoga has become one of the best time spending activities as it is the easiest way to lose weight and stay healthy. TV, DVDs, internet and magazines are basic medium to learn yoga. Chances of probing on this section are more as compared to others.

Apart from the above suggestions, the candidates can also have any other different hobby. But make sure, your hobby should be productive. Just analyse your interest and stay ready for counter questioning.

  • Knowledge and experience matter a lot.
  • Self-introspection drills your hobbies and interest.
