Indian Navy, the force that handles all external threats through waters, surrounding India. There are various tasks and respective posts in Navy to expand the range of security and diversity of operations. Indian Navy has got some vacancies for fighter pilots to deter and respond to the airborne threat. And the vacancies have same physical standards as that of fighter pilots of Indian air force. Now the point is about the age required for the fighter pilots of Indian Navy as per eligibility criteria.
So, if you want to join Indian Navy as a fighter pilot, the favourable entries are
UES (University Entry Scheme):
For this entry, your age must range between 21-24 years. As per the last notification released in June this year, the age group range determined was 2 July 1992- 1 July 1997 (including these dates). A candidate must be a final year engineering student from any stream. The aggregate marks of the student must be 60% or above till 6th sem of B.Tech/B.E or 8th sem of 5 year integrated degree course. Candidate must have maths and physics as subjects in 12th. As per the criteria, the candidate must score 60% or above in order to retain its candidature after recommendation. The entry provides tenure of short service (SSC). Eligible candidates have to appear in naval campus selection team.
SSC (Short Service Commission) Entry:
This entry also offers pilot vacancies. Age limit for this entry is from 19 to 23 years. The last notification released in October of this year, mentioned the age of candidate must range between 2 July 1992 – 1 July 1997. Age limit for CPL holders in 19-25 years. Here CPL stands for Commercial Pilot Licence. CPL holder must possess valid and current CPL issued by DGCA. Candidate must possess engineering degree (B.Tech / B.E) in any discipline passed with 60 % or above along with physics and maths as subject in 12th. The selection procedure is based on the educational performance and the call up for SSB is done by releasing a cut-off. The selected candidates will be accessed in SSB.
As per the last notification of the two entries released, the entries for pilot are only for men. And PABT clearance is condition for the candidates applying for pilot entry. If once failed in PABT, the candidate will not be allowed to appear in it again.
