The 57th Army Medical Corps (AMC) Biennial Conference commenced at the AMC Centre & College, Lucknow, marking a significant gathering of senior leadership and professionals from the Army Medical Corps. Held from 24th to 26th March 2025, the conference aims to deliberate on advancements in military medicine, strategic planning, and future readiness of the Corps.
A key highlight of the inaugural day was the formal opening of a state-of-the-art medical exhibition, inaugurated by Lt Gen Sadhna S Nair, Director General Medical Services (Army) and Senior Colonel Commandant, AMC; Lt Gen Rajeev Puri, Director General Manpower Planning & Personnel Services (DG MP & PS); and Lt Gen Shivinder Singh, Commandant AMC Centre & College, Officer-in-Charge Records, and Colonel Commandant, AMC.
The exhibition showcased cutting-edge, technology-driven medical innovations developed to enhance operational medical support and patient care delivery in diverse environments. From telemedicine systems to advanced diagnostic tools and field-deployable surgical units, the exhibition reflected the Corps’ commitment to embracing innovation and modern healthcare practices.
During the session focused on Adjutant General matters, critical discussions were held with Lt Gen Rajeev Puri on issues related to Human Resource Management and Cadre policies of the AMC. The forum provided a valuable platform for senior leaders to align on reforms, welfare measures, career progression, and talent retention strategies within the Corps.
The session also explored the strategic vision and operational roadmap of the Army Medical Corps, emphasizing its evolving role in the Indian Army’s wider operational readiness and humanitarian missions.
Speaking on the occasion, Lt Gen Sadhna S Nair emphasized the importance of continuous learning, innovation, and proactive personnel management in building a resilient and future-ready medical force. “This conference not only strengthens our professional bonds but also empowers us to adapt swiftly to the changing dynamics of military medicine,” she said.
The 57th Biennial Conference continues over the next two days with technical sessions, workshops, and brainstorming forums focusing on medical research, leadership development, and modernization of medical logistics and infrastructure.
The event underlines the AMC’s unwavering dedication to excellence in military healthcare and its pivotal role in supporting the operational effectiveness of the Indian Army.
