The Indian Army’s Spear Corps organized a comprehensive three-day Ex-Servicemen outreach programme from December 30, 2024, to January 1, 2025, benefiting 450 veterans, Veer Naris, and widows from seven districts of Tripura. The initiative aimed to address critical issues faced by the ex-servicemen community and provide them with essential support.
Key aspects of the outreach included:
- Resolution of Pension Anomalies and Documentation Issues: Dedicated efforts were made to address discrepancies in pension and service-related documentation, ensuring that beneficiaries receive their rightful entitlements.
- Dissemination of Welfare Schemes and Policies: Participants were informed about the latest welfare schemes and policies introduced by the government and the Army, enhancing their access to available benefits.
- Medical Assistance through ECHS Cell: A special Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS) cell with medical staff was set up at the venue. The cell provided health check-ups, medicines, and medical aid to veterans, particularly those residing in remote villages.
This outreach programme reflects the Indian Army’s enduring commitment to the welfare of its veterans and their families, acknowledging their invaluable service to the nation. By addressing key concerns and providing medical and administrative support, the event strengthened the bond between the Army and its ex-servicemen community while ensuring their well-being and dignity.
