Traffic Advisory Issued for Indian Air Force Air Show Over Hussain Sagar in Hyderabad

Hyderabad is preparing for an exciting Air Show by the Indian Air Force over Hussain Sagar at Tank Bund this Sunday, prompting local traffic police to implement significant diversions to ensure the smooth flow of vehicles during the event. The traffic advisory highlights that the adjustments will be in effect from 2 PM to 9 PM, coinciding with the scheduled performance.

To manage the expected influx of spectators and participants, traffic coming from Raj Bhavan and Panjagutta will not have access to the Khairtabad flyover. Instead, vehicles will be redirected at the VV Statue towards Shadan, Nirankari, and the old PS Saifabad area. This measure aims to alleviate congestion and maintain safety in the vicinity of the event.

Motorists heading from Khairtabad flyover towards NTR Marg will be similarly affected, as their route will be diverted at the Indira Gandhi statue (Necklace rotary). They will be instructed to take PVNR Marg or Necklace Road, directing them towards Prasads IMAX or the Mint compound lane. Further diversions include traffic from Liberty heading towards the upper Tank Bund, which will be redirected at the old Telugu Thalli junction towards Iqbal Minar.

Additional alterations will be made to traffic flow around Nirankari Junction, with vehicles being directed towards Ravindra Bharathi instead of Iqbal Minar. This also applies to traffic coming from the old PS Saifabad area. Vehicles entering from Dhobi Ghat aiming for the Childrenโ€™s Park or Upper Tank Bund will be diverted at DBR Mills towards the Kavadiguda X roads for alternative routing.

Furthermore, traffic approaching the Sailing Club from CGO Towers will be re-routed at Kavadiguda X roads, guiding them towards DBR Mills and Jabbar Complex. For those coming from Ranigunj with intentions to reach Upper Tank Bund, diversions will lead them at Karbala Maidan towards the Bible House.

In addition to the changes for private vehicles, all inter-district RTC buses traveling from Secunderabad towards MGBS via Tank Bund will also experience diversions. Those buses will be redirected at Sweekar โ€“ Upakar Junction, taking them through Sangeeth, Mettuguda, Tarnaka, Nallakunta, and several other key locations before reaching their final destination at MGBS. City buses aimed towards Tank Bund will similarly be diverted at Karbala Maidan towards the Bible House.

The traffic police urge all motorists and bus passengers to plan their journeys in advance and be vigilant during the Air Show as they navigate through the city under these temporary traffic management measures. The community is encouraged to cooperate for a successful and safe event.
