Army Pays Tribute to Rifleman Jaswinder Singh Killed in Kashmir Duty

Srinagar witnessed a poignant moment on Saturday as the Indian Army paid heartfelt tribute to Rifleman Jaswinder Singh, who lost his life while serving in the challenging environment of Kashmir. The news of his sacrifice brought forth an outpouring of respect and condolences from various quarters within the armed forces.

In a post shared on the microblogging platform X, the Army acknowledged Rifleman Singh’s bravery, with General Upendra Dwivedi, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), leading the salutation. The message highlighted the soldier’s supreme sacrifice, stating, “General Upendra Dwivedi, COAS, and all ranks of the Indian Army salute the supreme sacrifice of braveheart Rifleman Jaswinder Singh, who laid down his life in the line of duty in Jammu and Kashmir.” The Army’s statement emphasized their commitment to supporting Singh’s family during this devastating time of loss.

Additionally, the Chinar Corps, which oversees military operations in Kashmir, also expressed deep sorrow over the untimely demise of Rifleman Singh. Through their social media channels, they conveyed their condolences, writing, “Chinar Corps regrets the unfortunate and untimely demise of Rfn Jaswinder Singh while on operational duty. In this hour of grief, the Indian Army stands in solidarity with the bereaved family and is committed to their support.”
