Major Vishavdeep Singh Attri

In the serene landscapes of Nagaland, where the mighty Dhansiri River flows, an ordinary day turned into a moment of life and death for two young children. But in the midst of panic and despair, a hero emerged, reminding us all that a soldier is never truly off duty.

It was a typical day along the riverbanks of the Dhansiri, near Dimapur, when a heart-stopping incident unfolded. Two children, aged around 5 to 6 years, were playing near the water when they were suddenly swept away by the strong river currents. Within moments, they found themselves struggling 30-35 meters deep into the river, beyond their reach and hope. Their terrified cries mingled with the desperate pleas of their mother, who stood helplessly on the shore.

In that critical moment, Major Vishavdeep Singh Attri, an officer from the esteemed Judge Advocate Generalโ€™s Department of #SpearCorps, stationed at Rangapahar, Nagaland, heard the anguished cries. Without a second thought for his own safety, he sprang into action. Driven by a sense of duty that goes beyond any call of service, he dove into the riverโ€™s swirling waters, battling the current to reach the distressed children.

The locals, witnessing this extraordinary act of courage, gathered around to express their heartfelt gratitude. They hailed the brave Major, who disregarded his own safety to save the lives of the little ones. The praise and gratitude showered upon him were well-deserved, but for Major Vishavdeep, it was simply another day in the life of a soldierโ€”a life built on the values of duty, courage, and self-sacrifice.

This story is a testament to the spirit of our armed forces, who stand ready to serve, no matter the time, place, or circumstance. It reminds us that being a soldier is not just about bearing arms or standing on the frontlines; itโ€™s about embodying the values of heroism and humanity, even when the uniform isnโ€™t on display.

As we celebrate the valor of Major Vishavdeep Singh Attri, let us remember that true heroes often act without expectation of recognition or reward. They move beyond the call of duty, guided by an unwavering commitment to protect and serve. Major Vishavdeepโ€™s courageous rescue is an inspiring reminder of the strength, compassion, and sense of duty that our soldiers carry with them, both in and out of uniform.

Kudos to Major Vishavdeep Singh Attriโ€”your bravery has not only saved two lives but has also left an indelible mark on the hearts of many. You are a shining example of what it means to serve with courage and selflessness. Bravo, Major! The nation salutes you!
