The Indian Air Force’s Rafale fighter jets have successfully returned to India on June 26, 2024, after participating in the prestigious Ex Red Flag exercise in the United States. Marking a strategic milestone, the jets made a refueling stop at Lajes, Portugal, where Mr. Manish Chauhan, the Indian Ambassador to Portugal, met with the IAF team. During this interaction, mementos were exchanged, enhancing diplomatic ties alongside military cooperation.
Following the stop in Portugal, the contingent split into two groups to expand their training and international collaboration. One team traveled to Egypt, engaging in joint exercises with the Egyptian Air Force.
In a display of aerial prowess, the Indian Rafales and Egyptian Rafales flew in formation over the iconic Great Pyramids, a symbolic gesture underscoring the deepening military relations between the two nations. Mr. Ajit Gupte, Indian Ambassador to Egypt, met with the team, offering his best wishes and support.
The other team proceeded to Greece, where they conducted exercises with the Hellenic Air Force, flying alongside F-16s. This interaction aimed to enhance interoperability and strategic alignment between the two air forces.
