The operation began after local authorities discovered the stockpile of ammunition during a routine inspection. Recognizing the potential danger, they immediately sought the assistance of the Indian Army.

The Bomb Disposal Team from COD Jabalpur, known for its expertise in handling and neutralizing explosive devices, quickly mobilized to address the threat.

Brigadier Rajesh Sharma, the officer in charge of the operation, emphasized the importance of ensuring public safety. “Our primary objective is to secure the area and safely dispose of the dangerous ammunition. The team is working meticulously to neutralize each piece of ammunition, ensuring that no harm comes to the residents or the environment,” he stated.

The clearance operation involves a detailed and cautious approach. Each piece of ammunition is carefully examined, disarmed, and then safely demolished in controlled conditions. The team employs advanced techniques and equipment to manage the disposal process, ensuring maximum safety and efficiency.

Local residents have expressed their gratitude for the swift and effective response by the Indian Army. “We are very thankful to the Army for their prompt action. Knowing that such dangerous materials are being safely removed gives us great relief,” said a local shopkeeper near the scrapyard.

The operation is expected to continue for several days, given the large quantity of ammunition that needs to be safely disposed of. The Indian Army’s Surya Command and the Bomb Disposal Team remain committed to completing the task with the highest standards of safety and professionalism.

This incident underscores the essential role of the Indian Army in providing support to civil authorities during emergencies.
