In a distinguished ceremony held in Prayagraj, Lieutenant General MV Suchindra Kumar, the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-IN-C) of the Northern Command, bestowed honors upon several army personnel for their exceptional bravery and service.
The Northern Command Investiture Ceremony, marked by its solemnity and grandeur, recognized the valor and dedication of those who have gone beyond the call of duty in service to the nation.
The awards presented during the ceremony included one Yudh Seva Medal, a prestigious decoration awarded for distinguished service of a high order during wartime. Additionally, 45 Sena Medals for Gallantry were awarded to soldiers who displayed extraordinary courage and valor.
Three Sena Medals (Distinguished) were also presented for outstanding service in operations against the enemy or for distinguished service in peacetime.
Nine Vishisht Seva Medals were bestowed upon personnel for exceptional service of a high order, and three COAS Unit Citations recognized units for their outstanding and meritorious performance.
Furthermore, 39 Army Commander Unit Appreciations were given to units for exemplary performance and professionalism.
In total, 58 awards were given for acts of bravery and heroism beyond the call of duty, while 64 unit citations highlighted the exceptional professionalism and performance of the units.
The ceremony underscored the Indian Army’s commitment to recognizing and honoring the sacrifices and achievements of its soldiers and units, reinforcing the values of courage, dedication, and service to the nation.
