In the aftermath of a distressing incident that occurred in strife-torn Manipur last week, a head constable belonging to the Border Security Force (BSF) has been suspended.
The incident involved the head constable, identified as Satish Prasad, being captured on CCTV camera sexually assaulting a woman inside a grocery store near a petrol pump in Imphal.
In the footage that has been widely shared on social media, the man in uniform can be seen carrying an INSAS rifle while groping the woman.
In response to the shocking footage and the gravity of the offense, the BSF took swift action, promptly suspending Head Constable Satish Prasad pending further investigation.
A formal case has also been registered against him to ensure appropriate legal measures are taken.
The authorities are determined to handle the matter with the seriousness it deserves and deliver justice to the victim.
