Progressive Group Task
This is a outdoor task and is one of the interesting task of the GTO series. This task is about set of obstacles in ground in that you and your team members need to cross each obstacle by set of rules. The time allotted for the task is 30-45 minutes and to cross the obstacles the group will have some helping materials which are given by the GTO.
Half Group Task
Sometimes some of the candidates do not get the opportunity to express their ideas in the Progressive task . For this sake, the Half Group Task is used. The whole group is divided into half and each group is assigned with the same task one by one. The rules are same as in the PGT.
Lecturette
It is an individual task and the candidate is required to give a short talk to the group. Three minutes are allowed to prepare any chosen topic from the four given in the Lecturette Cards for the talk.
Snake Race
In this task the group is pitched against each other over a set of six obstacles with a snake like load to carry.
Command Task
The whole group is seated away from the testing area. The task is similar to that of the PGT and the rules remain the same. Each individual is then called by the GTO one by one in a random manner. He then asks the individual simple question to make the aspirant feel at ease. Then the GTO explain the task and ask the attempter to clear the doubts if any. Then he asks the attempter to choose his subordinates for the task.
Individual obstacles
A set of 10 obstacles is set to be tackled individually. Obstacles are numbered from one to ten, denoting the points each one carries. Each individual is given three minutes.
